Mercadier Decoration Microcement Training

for Professionals

Mineral Fox Microcement Training for Professionals is a 3-day, hands-on training course created to teach professionals with some level of trowel experience how to apply Mercadier Decoration layered concrete (microcement). Mercadier Decoration is different from other microcements in materiality, aesthetics and system. Itā€™s a premium product that requires a premium application. Until now, Mineral Fox has worked with a small selection of professional applicators. Now, due to demand, we are looking to grow our network of approved applicators across Australia. This course is unlike any other. We are limiting seats to just 6 people per course and are providing pre-prepared training stations with a deep dive on preparation and detailing. This training is suited to craftspeople who have some trowel experience such as decorative plastering, rendering, tiling, flooring etc.

This is an intensive 3-day course made up of 20 hours of training at our showroom and warehouse at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. Youā€™ll have your own training station complete with walls, internals and externals to work on ā€“ not just sample boards. Training will take place in a focused setting ā€“ places are limited to 6 people. Which means you will get attention and support.

Meet the trainer

Andrew DuLake

TRAINER & TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

With more than 30 years of application experience around the world, Andrew is one of Mineral Foxā€™s most experienced applicators (via his company Attention to DTile). He has trained craftspeople around the world including the UK, Russia and Scandinavia. Andrew started working with Mercadier Decoration layered concrete when he was working in London 16 years ago. He has a deep understanding of preparation, particularly in wet areas and spent much of his career as an award-winning tiler specialising in complex installations and heritage work. Andrew is passionate about performing the highest standard of work and providing his clients with an exceptional outcome.

FAQs

Mercadier Decoration layered concrete is different from other microtoppings on the market. Itā€™s a different material and handles differently and has a unique application system with a comprehensive range of sealers.
We believe that preparation and attention to detail is critical when working with our Mercadier Decoration layered concrete ā€“ particularly in wet and functional areas. Youā€™ll learn how to specify how to build the substrate, how to waterproof, how to prepare the space as well as application, top tips and tricks from practising applicators. Youā€™ll learn hands-on in our focused space (maximum 6 people) in custom-built learning stations (not sample boards).
We go beyond the basics of how to apply the product and dive deep into everything you need to know and be successful from preparation to communicating with clients and engaging with designers.
Approved applicators will have access to our product and will be backed by our warranty. By having access to Mercadier Decoration layered concrete, you can differentiate yourself against competition and elevate
We aim to expand our training locations in the future. But for the foreseeable future, we will be hosting all professional training from our facility on the Sunshine Coast.

TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

The course will be held at our Coolum showroom and warehouse on the Sunshine Coast. The nearest airport is Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) Airport which is a 10-15 min drive away. The best and closest area to stay in is Coolum ā€“ a 5-10 min drive away.
